Indigenous Women and Sustainable Development: A Systematic Review of Cultural and Social Dynamics in Tribal India

Abstract (English)
Tribal development is a complex and multifaceted issue that requires a comprehensive approach to address the unique challenges and constraints faced by indigenous communities. Cultural sustainability refers to maintaining and valuing cultural beliefs, practices, languages, and traditional knowledge that define a community’s identity. Social sustainability includes social inclusion, equity, community development, and social justice especially in the context of marginalized groups like tribal women. Research questions How tribal women contributed in the process of preservation of Language, Art, Craft, and Ritual Practices. Reviews based on publication took place between 2000–2024 focusing on their role in environmental conservation and sustainable development. This study mainly emphasizes the significance of using and strategizing indigenous knowledge in the face of environmental and other changes, thus advancing indigenous management theory. The article concludes by offering theoretical, practical, and policy implications for researchers, entrepreneurs, and the government.
