Ethnography and economic studies: opportunities and challenges

Abstract (English)
In this essay I will focus on the relevance of using a variety of approaches for a better understanding of the economy in an interconnected world. I will argue and explain that using perspectives like in situ (Ytuarte 2000) and multisite (Ytuarte 1992, 2014, 2022) ethnographies but complemented with other methods, may contribute to understanding and better acknowledge this type of processes.
I will develop my argument in three economics process: workers of the industry, commodities and migration. I studied these processes in differents regions of México (Tlaxcala and Chiapas) but they are not limited there. Finally, I will discuss its relevance in our discipline, Anthropology
