Caring for Visual Impairment: A Duo-Ethnographic Study of WhatsApp as a Caregiver Space

Abstract (English)
This paper critically examines the authors' experiences with visual impairment. Through a collaborative lens, the authors explore the importance of care through therapeutic emplotment, using personal narratives via WhatsApp (Duque,2020) to illustrate their journeys with visual impairment. Adopting a duo-ethnographic approach—where the researcher also participates and draws from their own experiences and knowledge—the authors engage in a dialogical inquiry into the social phenomenon of care and well-being related to visual impairment. They underscore the sentiment, "I am not alone in this journey," while also reflecting on the values associated with this experience.
