The Applied Value and Innovative Practices of Integrating Intangible Cultural Heritage into Preschool Education ——A Case Study of the Mixed-Age Mobile Classroom Model at Longrui Kindergarten

Abstract (English)
As the crystallization of human civilization, the integration of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) into preschool education represents both an innovative practice in cultural transmission and an effective pathway for early childhood development. This integration demonstrates tripartite application values:
Firstly, in cultural heritage preservation, it fosters cultural identity through age-appropriate ICH projects while cultivating cultural appreciation and inclusive mindset through comparative studies of domestic and international ICH items.
Secondly, for child development, ICH education facilitates comprehensive growth through multi-sensory stimulation, enhances problem-solving abilities via multi-method approaches, and nurtures aesthetic perception and creativity through multi-dimensional immersion.
Thirdly, in curriculum development, it reconstructs educational objectives by shifting from knowledge transmission to cultural enlightenment and value cultivation, enriches curricular content through systematic integration of ICH resources, and ensures sustainable development of heritage education.
Longrui Kindergarten has implemented the "mixed-age, venue-based mobile classroom" model, integrating ICH into 23 specialized art venues. Six venues directly correspond to UNESCO-listed ICH projects: Paper-Cutting Pavilion, Weaving Pavilion, Dyeing Art Pavilion, Ink-Wash Pavilion, Paper Art Pavilion, and Printing Pavilion. Through practical exploration, the kindergarten has developed a three-tiered pathway: venue-based activity integration, daily life immersion, and curricular-cultural fusion. This practice provides a replicable model for promoting ICH in early childhood education and establishes an effective implementation framework for heritage integration in preschool settings.
